Spring Is In The Air!

Greetings,

Wow, what a whirlwind of a spring already! Marc and I have just gotten home from the last of three shows we were scheduled for.  This time of year is one of my favorites, seeing the trees in bloom and daffodils peeking out their yellow heads as we drive our rig down the road brings a smile to my face. What is better than that first warm day when you can smell the flowers and feel the sun warm your bones?

The winter months are the time that I buckle down and really work on new projects. This year was no different and finally at Intergroom I was able release my latest project, my new DVD based learning systems.  For the last 6 months I have been creating a new, innovative system of training based on my 30+ years of experience and more importantly, the experience I have gained over the last 16 years with my school, The Paragon School of Pet Grooming. Now you can learn my secrets and techniques that have earned me the reputation of being one of the best leaders in the pet styling industry. The DVDs feature me and my team of award-winning, certified master groomers demonstrating the same lessons that we teach at our school.

I think the DVD that I'm most proud of is the Anatomy DVD. At Intergroom, I brought Lisa Van Sweden, the artist from ‘Notes’,  we did a live demonstration with a Doberman and hand painted a full skeleton on one side, allowing you to see how the bones play a huge role in what we do when grooming a dog. Lisa did an awesome job and it was the hit of my anatomy lecture!

Spring and summer is when I begin to come out of my hibernation work mode and focus on things that make life really enjoyable; walking in the woods with ‘the white dogs’ (we have 3 now), exploring the countryside on horseback and planting our new garden. I love to work and I love to create. I encourage each of you to seek out those same types of simple pleasures for yourself and take the time to enjoy them!

Happy Trimming & Happy Spring!

Melissa
