Professional Attitude

As I was sipping a cup of coffee the other day the word “attitude” popped into my head.  Sitting there, I realized just how important a positive attitude is in our lives.  As professionals we must always maintain a positive attitude when we deal with people. In my opinion there is nothing worse than someone with a negative attitude, remember your attitude is contagious, everyone you have contact with is impacted by your attitude. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen professionals interacting with customers and as I observe them it is obvious that their attitude is the number one factor in how customers perceive the value that they are receiving from that professional.

When dealing with people ask yourself this question, did that person have a positive attitude and did their attitude influence your feelings and your decision to spend money?  People have choices as to where they can spend their money, would you rather give your money to someone who is happy and positive or do you want to give your money to someone who is surly and rude.  It is a scientifically proven fact that a happy positive attitude is contagious; people will spend more and spend more often when they have a positive experience.  Remember a smile will always brighten someone’s day and a friendly positive attitude will always make people feel better. Here are a few quick tips to use to make sure you always have a positive attitude, practice them everyday so that they become habit and always SMILE!

1). When you start your day, take a minute, look in the mirror and smile. Focus on  how “Great” your day is going to be!

2). Always make sure you are smiling when you talk on the phone, your attitude will be conveyed to the person you are speaking with!

3). Remember what your mother always said; Treat others the way you would want them to treat you!

4). Forgive and Forget, if someone irritates you, don’t focus on the irritation,  focus instead on how you can create a position outcome and resolution of the issue!

5). It is not what you say; it is HOW you say it! Always remember that your tone has a bigger impact in how you are perceived than your actual words!

        Happy Trimming!
